Project Earth

I heard today from Artists Project Earth. It is a charity set up by Buena Vista Social Club’s Ibrahim Ferrer and Omara Portuondo which is based on profits from the album Rhythms Del Mundo. The album features Coldplay, U2, Arctic Monkeys and many more. And the good news is that they have given a grant to Chooseday! – which will allow us to get some of the media printed like car stickers that we need to get out there. By the way have you got your T shirt yet? It is a great way of spreading the idea and they are quite a fashion item!

Our list of supporters now includes a wide range of city leaders like George Ferguson, Vala Ragnarsdottir and Mike Hill as well as key businesses such as Business West, UBHT and Triodos Bank. Support is growing at the community level too with a growing number of Bristol people saying yes to Chooseday and key voluntary groups like Transition City Bristol actively engaged.

Which all suggests Chooseday might just catch the public imagination and make a real impact on climate change. This feels like the time at the firework display when the instructions read ‘light the blue touch paper and…’
